The Fire Cats Streaming Fundraiser

September 13 @ 12:00 AM - December 31 @ 11:59 PM

Event Description

Cats who have survived through wildfire have special needs in terms of the behavior they exhibit after the disaster. Friendly house cats typically will act feral, leaving rescuers challenge to know which cats are social or feral. “Survival” is a key word for these cats, because they do indeed have an uncanny ability to survive the infernos, an apocalypse of wildfires. They will retreat to underground areas and areas not burnt, hiding during the day, and only coming out at night in search of food. A fire cat rescue is a specialty onto itself. Those who are experienced in it have learned through working multiple fire events. The actual rescue is just the first part of what may be a long journey to bringing the cat back to physical and behavioral health. The organizations and rescuers profiled in the film The Fire Cats: Save Something Small are what many have declared “BAD ASS.” We hope you will enjoy following their journeys through two of the largest fires in California history: the Tubbs Fire and the Camp Fire. Buy streaming tickets!
