Camp Fire Evacuation Center – Day Two
We had a huge amount of activity today with intake of animals, receipt of many donations and sharing of pet food and supplies with families in need.
Many thanks to each and every one of you who are helping to make this tragic time for families just a little more bearable. The generosity of so many people humbles us, each of you giving so much of your hearts, your wallets and your time. So many people coming together in difficult times.
Twelve-yearold Emma was one of those people. She came with her mother and siblings to bring donations of kitty supplies and $120 she asked friends and family to donate to FieldHaven for her birthday. They live here in Lincoln, but they suffered from the loss too. Emma’s dad is doctor at Feather River Hospital in Paradise, which burned in the fire. They have a house in Paradise that dad lives in while working. That burned down in the fire too.
Jersey Mike’s Subs, thank you for the lunches! Bradshaw Animal Shelter, thank you for sharing your wonderful staff with us and the amazing supply trailer. Yuba-Sutter Domestic Animal Disaster Assistance, you are a great partner, thank you for taking care of all the dogs. So many of all sizes! The executive staff from Yuba County, Yuba County Office of Emergency Services, County of Sutter, CA, County of Sutter Office of Emergency Management (OEM), Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds – you are all so great to work with.
Tomorrow is going to be another day of doing what we can to help just a little in the challenging journey these pets and their families are taking.
