Rochelle Barcellona grew up in Southern California with cats, dogs, rabbits and horses. She graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in organizational communications and public relations, and worked at the largest advertising agency in the world (at that time).
Rochelle, her husband, and two cats moved to Folsom, CA in 1990 where she ran her own award-winning advertising and PR firm. She held the title of parks and recreation commissioner for the city of Folsom, where she met Scout Valentine, a future board member of FieldHaven Feline Center. (It all ties together.)
Rochelle received a call from Scout one day in 2013 that FieldHaven needed help with its annual fundraising event, Classics, Cats & Cabernet. Having planned many successful events for agency clients – and loving cats – Rochelle took on the job, and planned the event for the next six years.
Becoming more and more involved with FieldHaven, and believing in its mission wholeheartedly, Rochelle retired her event planning hat and became FieldHaven’s development director at the end of 2017.
Rochelle is also a certified personal chef, certified Chopra Center ayurvedic teacher and certified yoga and meditation teacher. Needless to say, she brings zen to her cat herding duties at FieldHaven. She tends to adopt cats and fly them to family members across the country. She and her husband especially love to visit their grandkitties and daughters who live in the Portland, OR area.
