About Daisy Ortega
Cats make the best dolls! When I was growing up, I would dress them up and play with them. My favorite kitty growing up was a fluffy Himalayan Siamese mix named Yuki – he was so patient.
In 2009, my sister and I started volunteering at FieldHaven Feline Center. We had moved to a new house that had a feral colony and FieldHaven helped us alter all of them! After that, we continued helping with Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR), transport, adoptions, and fostering.
I moved to San Luis Obispo in 2013 to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
While living there, I volunteered at San Luis Obispo County Animal Services and the Cal Poly Cat Program with both their medical and adoption teams. The summer before I graduated, I began volunteering with the medical team at FieldHaven and fell in love with fostering neonatal kittens. After graduating in 2017, I began working at FieldHaven and as a result I now have a room a dedicated for all the kitties I bring home.
