Jaspurr

It was a Thursday night at the ER for a sweet little kitten named Jaspurr. He had a very swollen abdomen and we were concerned it was something serious. We had gone through all the worming and GI medicines, so we were at a loss. The diagnosis came back as Feline Infectious Peritonitis or FIP. Having previously been in feline rescue for 15 years, this was a death sentence. As far as I knew from past experience, it was 100% fatal.

We called various contacts and were informed that it might not be so fatal. FieldHaven has been working with a group called FIP Warriors that has a new treatment for treating this terrible disease and it is showing amazing results. We were willing to do almost anything to save this wonderful kitten and began working with FieldHaven and FIP Warriors to begin treatment immediately. With FieldHaven’s help we were quickly set up to provide treatment no more than a day after the diagnosis. When I say this is amazing, I truly mean it. Within 1 week of starting the treatment, Jasper’s symptoms reversed. He was gaining weight, no longer had temperature fluctuations, and his abdomen had returned to normal. On top of that, he started playing more and was just being a normal kitten. I am so happy that FieldHaven, along with FIP Warriors, and their support staff were there for us and Jaspurr. We are now a month in to treatment and he is thriving. This treatment is truly amazing!
