Haven is a polydactyl princess who came to us as a foster in July and was a couple months old. She was with her littermate and two other kittens. She presented as quite shy but always slept with my daughter at night. We never thought she was sick, just shy, and we are fosters experienced with lots of medical issues! At spay they found a lot of fluid in her belly and had to remove her uterus (I’m not clear on why or what that pathology showed). They were suspicious of FIP right away. The next week we took her in for an evaluation by Dr. Alex based on those findings. The next day Her blood work came back pointing to FIP and she started treatment that night. We’d never given injections before so Dallas taught us and we’ve been doing it since day 1. She tolerates the injections well although of course she doesn’t like them and is afraid of us now. She still sleeps with my daughter every night though! In 20 days she has gained 1.5 lbs. She plays with the other fosters more and enjoys feather toys. She is a sweet fluffy girl!
