Late Sunday night a cat from the Silver Dollar Saloon was trapped and taken to our Marysville Cat Resource Center. She was scheduled to go to our Hathaway Veterinary Clinic early the following morning.
When we arrived on Monday, we discovered she had delivered four tiny kittens overnight.
Sadly, Mom rejected them, probably because she wasn’t much older than a kitten herself.
Because of that, one had passed, and the remaining three were cold to the touch.
We scrambled to get them into an incubator to bring their temperature up—they had to be warm before we could feed them. We were desperate to save them.
Thankfully, the three fought for their lives, and easily latched on to a bottle when they were ready to eat—they were starving!
We tried to get Mom to accept them but she refused. We couldn’t risk losing the remaining three, so we had to separate them.
Mom is being spayed and returned to her home, and we placed the kittens with a foster who specializes in neonatal care. They’re already doing much better! Click here to watch a video about them.
