A Special Thank You to Our Foster and Medical Team

Dear Foster and Medical Team,

Rest in Peace sweet little babies. Carry on brave foster heroes. You are the warriors in the fight to give love and life to those kittens who shouldn’t have been born. But they were and you are here to give them what you can, even if for a very short time.

This has been a rough summer for you, our medical and foster teams. We have lost a number of kittens and others are struggling hard. A little piece of your heart goes to the Rainbow Bridge with each loss. Each kitten you save to place in the loving arms of an adopter sends your heart soaring to the moon.

Please hold those moon shots close.

You have taken on a challenge that from the outside looking in appears to be all fun; bouncing, adorable, kissable kittens. Often it is just that, but you know there are those times when you spend your night nursing a sick, failing kitten, wiping up copious amounts of diarrhea, encouraging a kitten with a stuffed nose to eat baby food, rotisserie chicken, tuna – whatever she will take a tiny lick at. Some you send off with the blessing of your tears as they take their last breath. Mostly you carry those ill kittens forward from that precipice to become beautiful kittens with adoring personalities. Each of them carries your personal stamp of love, devotion and compassion that will bring years of happiness to their adoptive families.

Thank you for what you do. You are courage and love wrapped into one beautiful person. It is because of you that we can give these kittens a life. When you lose a kitten please continue to carry on, we are all here to help you through those tears, brush them aside and rejoice in the little life that was way too short but that you saved from dying a horrible death on the street or under a bush.

FieldHaven grows by taking on challenges; always striving to stretch to do more, save more. It isn’t always easy and this year is no different. We have taken on the challenge of Marysville, a community that has carried the burden of a population of cats that has gone unchecked for decades. They fight disease and congenital defects, not to mention just too many cats who are breeding too often. While it may be discouraging and seemingly endless, know we are making progress. These next couple of months will be, by far, the hardest in our journey to make Marysville a community kitty city. I hope each of you will carry on with us through this journey and help us to gather others along the way.

For it shall be a grand reward when we all walk the streets of Marysville watching plump, healthy cats basking in the sun, greeting visitors or for those feral felines catching a glimpse as they scoot behind a building. All proudly sporting their ear tips.

That pride will be in your eyes and your heart too. Because, if it weren’t for you fostering kittens we can never get to that reward.

I thank each and every one of you with all my soul.
Joy

THANK YOU JOY – SO MANY DO NOT REALIZE WHAT YOU AND FIELDHAVEN HAVE DONE FOR THE LITTLE CREATURES SO AS TO HAVE A LIFE – EVERY DAY I APPRECIATE HOW MUCH WE HAVE DONE FOR THE PARADISE FIRE CATS. MY FOSTER. WHO IS ADOPTED NOW, IS FINALLY COMING AROUND AFTER 7 1/2 MONTHS. HE IS ALMOST LIKE MY OTHER CATS AND KNOWS NOW HOW MUCH I LOVE HIM. ANY DAY, HE WILL BE ON MY LAP JUST AS HE DESERVES.
MARYSVILLE IS A WONDERFUL PLACE FOR TNR TO START,.
