Did you know that your employer may double the value of your donation without any additional cost to you? Many companies have a matching gift program and will match employee donations made to nonprofit organizations of your choice. If your company does not have a matching gift program, asking can sometimes help motivate management to set one up.

Gift matching procedures vary from company to company. Some companies use a campaign coordinator to process matching gift requests and others manage the program internally.

Here is the general step-by-step process:

  • An employee gets a matching gift form from his or her employer, usually from the human resources department.
  • After completing the form, the employee either hands it to his or her employer who then requests proof of donation from FieldHaven, or sends the form to FieldHaven along with a donation.
  • FieldHaven verifies that the donation has been made and returns the form, or request for confirmation, to the company or company's campaign coordinator.
  • The company verifies eligibility of the employee and FieldHaven and sends the matching gift donation to FieldHaven.

To the right is a list of organizations that match donations to FieldHaven Feline Rescue. If your employer matches donations but is not listed, please let us know and we will add them to the list.
