For those of you who remember Walmart and Rudy, we adopted them a year ago almost now! My how they've changed. They now come to slider and look in and let us know 3-4 times a day it is "treat time" and then they want their pets. Yes, we can pet both of them! It has taken lots of time and small steps but they are now quite the backyard fixtures, leaving me their "gifts" on my running path every morning, dead moles, mice, lizards. I leave the slider open in the summer during the morning and they venture inside on occassion but scoot out if we move about too much. They are used to Lucy, my big Lab, who loves kitties and sleeps with the house cat. They go nose to nose with Lucy smelling and aren't afraid. Our inside kitty is a tiny one and goes out for playtime with them each morning for an hour or two. She has no desire to be an outside cat. :-) They have plenty of warm, safe places in our barn but we are hoping by winter they will come inside for the night. We will see. They still do not want to be picked up but I think that will come with more time. They are so sweet and we love them. Hope all is well at Fieldhaven.
