Sammy was one of my first fosters, was a very, very shy cat. He was with me for almost a year and wasn’t ever really comfortable around me. He loved sleeping on my bed, but I always needed to remember to move slowly so as not to frighten him. While he was cautious around me he had no fear of my two cats and constantly made attempts to be friends with them. I assumed he would be with me for a long time as his shy nature prevented him from being a kitty that could go to one of our venues.
When Ruth called looking for a cat to be a companion to her aging kitty Calvin, Sammy seemed to be the perfect match. Calvin’s brother had passed away from old age and he was lonely. Ruth and her husband were looking for a younger cat that would want to be a companion for Calvin. I took Sammy over to meet Ruth and Kurt. As you can see by the photos they really do love each other!
While fostering can be hard on your heart when it comes time to “let go” of your kitty, seeing photos like this fills me with so much happiness.
Another Happy Ending thanks to all the volunteers at FieldHaven!
